Carlos Bocanegra helped Racing Santander keep a shutout in his return, but the club's offensive woes continued while Oguchi Onyewu is still waiting for his first Málaga appearance.

Racing Santander 0-0 Lugo

Carlos Bocanegra played all 90 minutes in his return to the Santander lineup following the international break and anchored the home side's defense to a shutout on Sunday against fellow mid-table team Lugo. However, Santander were held goalless for the fifth time in 10 league matches this season.

Bocanegra had a goal called back for a foul in the 36th minute and he later picked up a yellow card in the 76th.

Racing's matches this year have not been enjoyable for fans of goals; they are tied for last in the Segunda División with seven goals scored and tied for the league's best defense with seven goals against.

The draw, Racing's fifth of the season, puts them in 15th place in the Segunda División on 11 points. They next visit the league leaders, Elche, on Sunday.

Notes

Oguchi Onyewu was yet again an unused sub in Málaga's 2-1 win over Valladolid, which kept them in third place in La Liga.
