BRIAN SCIARETTA - Thursday, August 23, 2012
After being put on the transfer list last week by Leeds United, Robbie Rogers will head to League One club Stevenage on a loan.

Rogers, 25, signed with Leeds United in January but struggled to earn playing time at the end of last season largely due to injuries.

Rogers will play under head coach Gary Smith who coached Colorado Rapids from 2008/11 and is familiar with Rogers from his time in MLS.

"Robbie will be on loan with Stevenage FC until January," Rogers' agent Shaun Higgins told YA on Thursday. "Leeds United would like to retain the rights to Robbie and have allowed him to go on loan to seek consistent playing time."

"[Stevenage coach] Gary Smith is familiar with Robbie from his time in MLS. We are excited for Robbie to have the opportunity to play for a manager that is aware of his talent."

Stevenage have a win and a draw in their first two games of the 2012/13 season and will host Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
