Struggling to earn minutes with FC Kaiserslautern, American forward Andrew Wooten is going on loan to fellow Sandhausen.

A source with knowledge of the deal said the loan was not completed but is likely to be completed soon.

"He is about to sign a loan contract for one year without an option," the source told YA on Thursday.

In May, Wooten signed a three year professional contract extension with Kaiserslautern. Towards the end of last season, he broke into the first team and scored his first Bundesliga goal.

Through the first two games of the 2012/12 Bundesliga season, Sandhausen has two draws. Last weekend, they won their first German Cup match against Energie Cottbus 3-0.

Sandhausen will host Union Berlin this Friday.
