Los Angeles Galaxy forward Chad Barrett has travelled to Norway where he is on a trial with Tippeligaen club Valerenga.

The club confirmed that his trial will run through the weekend.

"I can confirm that Chad joined Vålerenga Tuesday and began his trial with the club at that time," Valerenga press officer Lasse Vangstein told YA. "For the time being the trial ends over the weekend. I do not think a decision will be made before that at least."

Valerenga finished the 2011 Tippeligaen season in seventh place and through the first 15 games of the 2012 season, they sit in sixth place.

Barrett, 27, has spent his entire professional career in MLS when he was drafted by Chicago with the third overall pick in the 2005 Superdraft. He played with Chicago through 2008 when he was traded to Toronto. In 2011 he was traded again to the Galaxy. He has scored 32 MLS goals in 192 games.
