JOHN KRETLOW - Friday, February 10, 2012
Tim Howard and Landon Donovan hope to guide Everton to a win as they take on Chelsea at home, while Clint Dempsey and Fulham hosts Stoke City.

Everton - Chelsea

Tim Howard, Landon Donovan, and Everton host Premier League heavyweight Chelsea at Goodison Park this weekend.

Howard and Donovan are regular starters and both should feature on Saturday.

The Toffees are coming off a draw against lowly Wigan Athletic last week and will want to bounce back with a better performance. They are unbeaten in their last five games, though the majority have been ties.

Chelsea is currently in fourth place in the standings and hoping to mount a run to an automatic Champions League spot, rather than a Champions League qualifier that they are in right now.

The Blues drew with Manchester United last week in a thriller and look for the three points this week.

Sylvain Distin, Seamus Cole, Jack Rodwell, Leon Osman, and Phil Jagielka look to miss for Everton.

John Obi Mikel and Ramires could miss for the Blues.

Tottenham Hotspur - Newcastle United

Brad Friedel and Tottenham Hotspur receive Newcastle United at White Hart Lane.

Friedel is a regular starter for Spurs and will be in the lineup barring a global cataclysm.

Tottenham is in third place in the standings, while Newcastle trails them by eight points. Spurs have lost just one game in their last 15 and hope to continue that hot streak this weekend.

Newcastle is in a Europa League spot but they can jump Chelsea with a win and reach a Champions League qualifier spot.

Tottenham looks to miss tom Huddlestone, Jermain Jenas, and David Bentley. Yohan Cabaye is suspended and will be sidelined for Newcastle.

Fulham - Stoke City

Clint Dempsey and Fulham take on Stoke City from Craven Cottage in London on Saturday. The Texan is expected to start as he has all season for the Cottagers.

Fulham is coming off a tough loss to Manchester City last week, and is in the bottom half of the Premier League standings. They hope to change their luck against Stoke City.

The Potters are just three points ahead of the Cottagers and have won just one game in their last five. They also hope to bounce back and climb the standings.

Andy Johnson, Steve Sidwell, and Zdenek Grygera could miss for Fulham, while Mamady Sidibé and Robert Huth look to be sidelined for Stoke.

Barnsley - Birmingham City

Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City travel to play Barnsley in a Championship battle. Spector is a regular starter for the Blues and he is likely to feature this weekend.

City has jumped the standings of late and now finds themselves in third place. They trail leaders West Ham united by just six points. The Blues are unbeaten in their last 12 games.

Barnsley is coming off a loss to Watford and is in 15th place in the standings. With a win, the Blues can jump Southampton into second place in the Championship.

Stevenage - Carlisle United

Frank Simek and Carlisle United take on Stevenage in League one play. Simek is a regular starter for the Cumbrians and should be in the lineup this weekend.

Carlisle trails Stevenage by just goal differential for the final spot in the promotion playoffs.

Stevenage is unbeaten in their last five games, while Carlisle has only lost one game in their last nine. Both teams hope for the win to solidify their spot in the playoff.s

Notes

Stuart Holden continues his recovery form a knee injury and will not feature in Bolton's game against Wigan Athletic. Tim Ream though looks to be in Bolton's game day lineup.

Zak Whitbread left Norwich City's last game with an injury and it is questionable if the center back will feature against Swansea City.

Brad Guzan is not likely to feature for Aston villa as they take on Manchester City. Eric Lichaj could see time for the Villans.

George John and Daniel Potts could be in West Ham United's lineup against Peterborough United.

Robbie Rogers could make the game day lineup in Leeds United's game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Conor Doyle is not likely to feature for Derby County's game against Millwall.

Robbie Findley and Nottingham Forest take on Watford.
