Yesterday YA confirmed that Mix Diskerud was in negotiations with Gent, today the Belgian club has acquired the US U-23 midfielder on loan.

Stabaek's media manager Lars Maehlum confirmed the deal to YA.

The loan is through July 31, 2012 and it includes an option to buy.

Gent is currently in second place in the Belgian Pro League with 43 points through 23 games. They trail first place Anderlecht by seven points.

Diskerud has played with Stabaek since 2008 and has made 81 league appearances for the club. Recently the club has fallen on hard financial times and many of the players are now forced to leave.

Gent travel to take on 13th place OH Leuven this Saturday.
