PREVIEW: MONDAY SCOTTISH ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
ANDREW VORCE - Saturday, December 31, 2011
Carlos Bocanegra and company will look to get Rangers back on the winning path when two meets three in the Scottish Premier League.

Rangers - Motherwell

Carlos Bocanegra and Rangers will be looking to put their midweek defeat to Celtic behind them as they take on Motherwell at home.

The loss meant that Celtic now tops the Scottish Premier League, a place that Rangers have held from the beginning of the season. Bocanegra was the only American to start, with Maurice Edu only being played the final 12 minutes while Alejandro Bedoya failed to make the bench.

Ally McCoist will be looking to shake things up to ensure their slump does not continue.Motherwell are only one place below Rangers, though 14 points separate the two clubs. Defender Dorin Goian was shown a red card against St. Mirren while Lee McCulloch might still escape punishment for his card in the game.

Motherwell will be without Steve Jennings who was handed a retroactive two game suspension due to an altercation with St. Mirren player Jim Goodwin. The first game was supposed to be served on Wednesday's game against Dunfermline, only for the game to be called off due to high winds.

Greenock Morton - Ayr United

Dominic Cervi will be looking to keep his team on a win streak after last weeks win Dundee.

Greenock Morton were on a downward slide before facing off against third placed Dundee who had eight points more than them in their 18 games played. Cervi and cohorts will be looking to pick up another three points at home to second to last placed Ayr who have two games in hand.

Ayr could jump up to sixth if they win both of those games, but will still be feeling the after effects of their 4-1 loss to basement dwellers Queen of the South. Ayr fixed their defensive frailties in their next outing, drawing 1-1 at home to Raith.
