US national team goalkeeper Bill Hamid is currently in England where he will begin training with Premier League team West Bromwich Albion

Hamid's agent Chris Megaloudis confirmed the arrangement to YA on Friday.

"This is simply training - nothing more at this point," Megaloudis said. "Bill will be in England until November 6th with West Brom."

Hamid has already been named the number two keeper for the US national team by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann but he still is yet to earn an international experience. He has served as the backup keeper to Tim Howard in four of the five games under Klinsmann.

Hamid is recently finished his second season with DC United as the club finished in seventh place in the Eastern Conference but did not make the playoffs.

My fellow Nats', I may have slightly exaggerated by using the word 'crisis', but I assure you that Howard is no longer top 5 (he was in 09'). Let's be real, I miss the days of Keller/Friedel. I recall laughing at our concacaf opponents as they fruitlessly shot at these walls. Howard is too aggressive/inconsistent/short-tempered and sucks at corner kicks.

Fact: A few years back we had the following keepers starting in the EPL.
1. Kasey Keller
2. Tim Howard
3. Brad Friedel (Guzan as back up)
4. Marcus Hahnemann

We now only have Howard, who's play as of lately hasn't been his best.

This is great for a young and promising player. Good luck and I hope more players get opportunities like this.

Replace Howard yeah thats not happening anytime soon. Hamid is a good young Keeper, and looks to gain quite a bit by training in England for a few weeks. There is no Keeper crisis. Especially with Guzan, and up and coming Keepers in MLS: MacMath, Johnson and the aformentioned Hamid. There is also The talented U-20 Keeper at Ipswich Town Cody Cropper.

Brian, replace Tim Howard are you kidding? Howard is top 5 keeper in the world! US has no keeper crisis. We have top backups, they just are not overseas except a few (Guzan., Yadell) MLS has many including Hamid! I wish him success and hope he gets picked up by someone.

Do it up Bill. We need to put some fire under Howard or, even better, replace him. You know US Soccer is going through a crisis when our keeping is an issue

Awesome. Good luck Bill. The U.S. turns out great keepers and the more international experience they get the better. Get over there young and work hard.
