Almost assured of being relegated at the conclusion of this season, Ryan Miller and Halmstadts BK went down hard to Malmö FF in midweek Allsvenskan action.
Miller started and went the distance for Halmstads.
The scoring started in the 29th minute when Mathias Ranégie fired home after he was set up by Daniel Larsson, giving Malmö the first half lead.
Eleven minutes later Jiloan Hamad doubled Malmö's lead, giving the visiting team a commanding lead going into halftime.
Jimmy Durmaz then notched in Malmö's third goal in the 53rd minute after being assisted by Larsson once again.
Joel Johansson was able to get one back for Halmstads in the 66th minute, but Wilton Figueiredo and Mathias Ranégie scored two more goals respectively for Malmö, completing the 5-1 rout.
Tomas Zvirgzdauskas and Michael Görlitz were both booked for Halmstads while Ivo Pekalski and Durmaz were cautioned for Malmö.
Halmstads continues their tough season and finds themselves at the bottom of the standings and 14 points from safety. Malmö currently is seven points from the last European spot in the Allsvenskan.
Ryan Miller and Halmstads next take on Syrianska FC while Malmö host AIK.
