Daniel Stevens could not help PS Kemi Kings get past PoPa while Jeremy Vuolo and AC Oulu went down hard to streaking Viikingit in the Ykkönen.
PoPa 4-2 PS Kemi Kings
Daniel Stevens and PS Kemi Kings went down to PoPa in weekend Ykkönen action.
Stevens started and played 68 minutes for Kemi, while Kyle Luetkehans did not make it off the bench.
Antti-Pekka Pihlainen opened the scoring for PoPa in the 30th minute, but in reply, Emenike Mbachu and Tuomas Tyystälä though both netted for Kemi in the 39th and 42nd minute, giving them the lead going into halftime.
The second half was another story for both teams, as PoPa scored three unanswered goals. Victor Solomon scored two goals while Juuso Aalto scored from the penalty spot.
Miikka Sjoros received a yellow card for PoPa while Sami Hyyvärinen was booked for Kemi.
Both Kemi and PoPa are now on 16 points and nine points from safety.
PoPa next takes on Viikingit on Wednesday while Kemi plays PK-35 on Thursday.
Viikingit 5 - 2 AC Oulu
Jeremy Vuolo and AC Oulu went down hard to Viikingit in the Ykkönen.
Vuolo started and went the distance for Oulu.
In the 39th minute, Viikingit opened the scoring when Ville Salmikivi combined with Joni Korhonen, who fired home to put the home team up front.
Just four minutes later, Oulu responded when Mika Nurmela sent a long pass to Randy Edwini-Bonsu who fired home.
The second half started out well for Oulu, as Edwini-Bonsu found the pack of the net after he received a pass from Mika Nurmela in the 53rd minute.
But, Viikingit put the game away when they scored three goals in a span of six minutes. Ensin Ville Salmikivi scored in the 65th and 71st minute while Korhonen got his second of the game in the 69th minute.
Salmikivi then got his hat trick in the 89th minute after he scored from the penalty mark, the 17th goal of the season for 19-year old.
Oulu now finds themselves five points from first place and possible promotion while Viikingit now trails Oulu by just one point.
Vuolo and Dritan Stafsula both received yellow cards for Oulu while Juri Kinnunen, Kare Björkstreand, and Korhonen were booked for Viikingit.
Viikingit next plays PoPa on Wednesday while Oulu takes on OPS on the same day.
