PREVIEW: BRABRAND IF - SØNDERJYSKE
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
DAVID SMITH - Wednesday, September 14, 2011
Conor O'Brien and SønderjyskE will look to shake off the weekend's league loss on Wednesday when they head to third-tier Brabrand IF in their delayed Danish Cup second round game.

O'Brien has started the last two games for SønderjyskE, and could very well be on the field from the get-go on Wednesday evening.

This second-round clash was originally scheduled to take place during the week immediately prior to the recent international break, however international call-ups for both SønderjyskE's first string keeper Nathan Coe to Australia's World Cup qualifying games and their backup Arnar Darri Pétursson for Iceland's youth squad forced the postponement.

SønderjyskE marked their return from the international break with an underwhelming 3-1 loss to AC Horsens in league play, however should still be considerable favorites against a Brabrand team struggling a full two divisions below.

The team from the western suburb of Aarhus has had a tough go in the 2. Division West this season, having not won since their opening game and holding one of the worst goals-scored records in the division.

A third-round date with Svebølle B&I of the third level of the Danish pyramid awaits the winner, which will serve as further enticement for O'Brien and his teammates as it would already make them clear favorites to reach the final 16 of the competition.

SønderjyskE will likely be without the services of forwards Quincy Antipas and Kenneth Fabricius as well as defender Søren Mussmann after the trio missed their weekend loss with injury.

Brabrand are reporting no absences to their squad for the game.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
