The trio of Americans at Mariehamn were shut out on their trip to Inter Turku while Etchu Tabe and RoPS could only manage a draw at home against KuPS.
Inter Turku 2-0 IFK Mariehamn
Americans Mason Trafford, Josh Wicks, and Guiseppe Funicello all featured in IFK Mariehamn's loss to Inter Turku.
Inter Turku's Domagoi Abramovic got the first scoring chance of the game, coming nearly close to an impressive bicycle kick. Wicks came up with a diving save to his left to deny him and keep the score level.
In the 36th minute Mariehamn's Jarkko Värttö received a red card, putting his team at a disadvantage for the rest of the game.
Not soon after, Inter took advantage when Abramovic sent in a cross that got deflected into the path of Timo Furuholm who volleyed home the first goal of the game.
Wicks continued to come under fire at net for Mariehamn in the first half, coming up with save after save to keep his team in the game. He got a knock shortly before halftime when he collided with Inter players on a cross, but stayed in the game.
Mariehamn's only chance of the first half came when Aleksei Kangaskolkka headed a cross from Ermin Gadzo, only to be denied by Inter's Magnus Bahne.
In the 56th minute, Inter's Mike Ojala left footed a shot into the goal after some lucky bounces from a broken play gave him the open shot.
Allan Arenfeldt Olesen received a yellow card for Marienhamn, while Inter's Joni Ajo and Tero Mäntylä also were cautioned.
Mariehamn will next play third-place Jyväskylän Jalkapalloklubi on Sunday.
RoPS 1-1 Kups Kuopio
Etchu Tabe and RoPS tied Kups Kuopio in Monday's Veikkausliiga action.
Tabe had missed the last two games due to suspension, but he was in the starting lineup Monday and went the distance for RoPS.
The first half saw Kups take the lead when Aleksi Paananen opened the scoring in the 47th minute.
RoPS came up with a response in the second half as Sakari Saarinen equalized in the 63rd minute.
With the draw, Kups missed an opportunity to distance themselves from the relegation zone. RoPS also missed an opportunity to start gaining ground to leave the bottom of the standings.
RoPS' Tuomo Könönen, Janne Turpeenniemi, and Mika Lahtinen were all booked while Kups' Joni Nissinen, Markus Joenmäki, and Atte Hoivala all received yellows.
The next week sees RoPS take on league leaders HJK in a battle of worst versus first.
