PREVIEW: WEEKEND FINNISH ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
JOHN KRETLOW - Friday, August 12, 2011
The American trio at Mariehamn looks to put them back to winning ways while Jeremy Vuolo and AC Oulu eye a promotion push in the second half of the season.

IFK Mariehamn - FF Jaro Pietarsaari

The trio of Mason Trafford, Josh Wicks, and Giuseppe Funicello look to help IFK Mariehamn get the win against FF Jaro Pietarsaari.

Trafford and Wicks started and went the distance in their last game, while Funicello came on to play the final 12 minutes. The three are likely to feature on Friday.

Mariehamn are winless in their last four games and will need the three points to keep pace in the standings. They are ten points from a Europa League spot.

Jaro trail Mariehamn by five points in the standings and will need a win to close the gap. They have won only once in their last five games and lost last week against Inter Turku.

Both teams left their last games unscathed and should feature similar lineups.

RoPS - TPS Turku

Etchu Tabe looks to return to action as RoPS takes on TPS Turku.

The American defender missed last week's loss to Haka Valkeakoski because of a red card suspension, but he could feature this Friday.

RoPS are currently in last place and facing automatic relegation if they do not start garnering points in the second half of the season. They are riding a five game losing streak and are six points from safety.

TPS are fifth in the standings, but still trail first place HJK by 21 points. They have not won since July 17th against Mariehamn, thus a win this time around would be vital.

Both teams go into the game without any injury or suspension problems.

PS Kemi Kings - FC Hämeenlinna

Daniel Stevens and PS Kemi Kings take on FC Hämeenlinna in Ykkönen action in Finland.

Stevens started and played 62 minutes in Kemi's loss to HIFK last week. The American is likely to feature once again on Saturday.

Kemi is in the relegation zone and five points from safety. They will need to start garnering points if they want to avoid 3rd division soccer next season.

Hämeenlinna have won their last two games and would like to get their third win in a row this weekend. They are seventh in the standings on ten points from the only playoff promotion spot. If they have any hopes of promotion, they will need to maximize their points for the rest of the season.

AC Oulu - FC Koo TeePee Kotka

Jeremy Vuolo and AC Oulu take on FC Koo TeePee Kotka this weekend in Ykkönen play.

Vuolo started and went the distance in goal for Oulu and is likely to start once again this Saturday.

Oulu are coming off an impressive victory over league leaders FC Lahti, and will look to build upon that performance with a win this weekend. They are currently fourth in the standings and six points from a promotion playoff spot.

Koo TeePee trail Pulu by only two points and also have promotion aspirations. A win this weekend would be massive for them, as they also look to streak in the second half of the season.
