RICH FIDLER - Friday, August 12, 2011
American striker Jozy Altidore will head on the road for the first time in Holland, while Helmond Sport will host their home opener in the Erste Division.

FC Twente - AZ Alkmaar

Altidore, who did not travel to the US for the friendly against Mexico during the week, will likely come off the bench in Saturday's scheduled game looking to add to his goal off the bench last week.

Niklas Moisander will miss the game against Twente after the defender received a red card in the victory over Eindhoven to open the season.

The Reds are led by new head coach Co Adriaanse; the Dutchman replaced Belgian Michel Preud'homme after last year's successful season that saw Twente capture the KNVB Cup with a finals victory over Ajax.

Twente is coming off a 1-0 victory in their season opening road affair with NAC Breda thanks to Marc Janko's first-half penalty.

The home team is led by Dutch head coach Gertjan Verbeek, a name familiar to many Americans as the head coach at SC Heerenveen who purchased American midfielder Michael Bradley from MLS.

Verbeek will be without injured goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov and Belgian striker Nacer Chadli for the game at AFAS Stadium.

Helmond Sport - Sparta Rotterdam

Wisconsin native Charles Kazlauskas will start in the midfield once again for Helmond as they host Rotterdam on Friday evening at Stadium de Braak.

Hans de Koning can only hope his team performs better than last weekend when they opened the season with a 3-1 loss on the road to FC Oss.

The visitors are coming off a 1-0 win courtesy of Toni Varela's penalty last weekend against Fortuna Sitard.

Head coach Michel Vonk will lead the "Red-White Gladiators" to Helmond after a successful opening weekend with a full roster available for selection.
