Maurice Edu and his cohorts have an uphill battle away at Swedbank Stadion if Rangers look to advance out of the Third Round Qualifying stage of the Champions League.

Malmo FF grabbed the go ahead goal at Ibrox on the 26th of July. Daniel Larsson put away his 18th minute chance and the Swedish club were able to hold Edu and company at bay for the rest of the game. The Glasgow outfit could have been caught off guard as the game was before the start of the Premier League season, but now it's win or out.

Rangers will be coming in on a high note having just beaten St. Johnstone 2-0 over the weekend. Malmo also won by the same score line against Kalmar after bouncing back from a 2-0 defeat away to AIK.

Rangers captain David Weir missed out on that win at McDiarmld Park after picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 loss at home to Malmo. Kyle Lafferty is still out after recovering from his hernia operation.

Notes

Though still technically a member of Benfica, Freddy Adu will not travel to Turkey to face Trabzonspor.
