BRIAN SCIARETTA - Monday, July 25, 2011
Omar Salgado and Jerome Kiesewetter scored in the second half for the US U-18 national team as they cruised to a comfortable victory over Israel in their opening game of the 2011 Milk Cup in Northern Ireland.

The score was tied at the half 0-0 with both teams creating chances.

In the second half, the US would pull ahead when Vancouver Whitecaps forward Omar Salgado headed home a cross from Jose Villareal who was a late addition to the US roster when he replaced Alex Shinsky.

In the 90th minute the US sealed the deal when Hertha Berlin forward Jerome Kiesewetter scored on a cross from Real Salt Lake midfielder Luis Gil to make the score 2-0. For the German-born Kiesewetter, it was his first ever goal for the United States in international play.

Next up for the United States at the Milk Cup is archrival Mexico on Wednesday.
