PREVIEW: THURSDAY SWEDISH ACTION
PREVIEWS
EXTRA TIME
TAHARKA TAYLOR - Thursday, May 26, 2011
Gale Agbossoumode and Djurgården will try to avoid falling to last place while Ryan Miller and Halmstads BK are looking to escape the Allsvenskan's basement.

Halmstads BK - IFK Göteborg

Ryan Miller and Halmstads BK host IFK Göteborg on Thursday at the Örjans Vall in Halmstad.

Miller will likely start on the bench for Halmstads as they continue their relegation battle, which currently has the team in last place in the Allsvenskan standings.

Göteborg started the season with four straight losses but have turned things around, going undefeated in their last six matches having won four of them.

Neither club are reporting injuries at this time, although Göteborg will be without 22-year-old starting midfielder Sebastian Eriksson due to suspension.

Djurgården - Elfsborg

Gale Agbossoumonde and Djurgården host Elfsborg on Thursday as the club looks for just its second league victory of the season.

Elfsborg, who have won four of their last five league matches and currently sit fourth in the Allsvenskan standings will provide a difficult challenge for a young Djurgården team that has seen some improvement since bringing in new head coach Magnus Prehsson.

Agbossoumonde will start in central defense as Djurgården look for a crucial point to keep them from potentially falling to dead last in the standings.

Elfsborg will be without veteran Finnish international Jari Ilola due to an undisclosed knee injury that has prevented the midfielder from taking part in the 2011 Allsvenskan season.

Djurgården are not reporting any injuries or suspensions.

Åtvidaberg - Ljungskile

Nick Noble and Ljungskile will look for their second straight win on Thursday when they travel to take on Åtvidaberg in a midweek Superettan match up.

Noble will start between the post while fellow American Michael Thomas will start in the Ljungskile midfield.

Åtvidaberg currently sit in second place in the Superettan standings with 15 points, trailing leaders Assyriska by just one point.

While Ljungskile are currently in tenth place, a win on Thursday could significantly lessen the gap between the two teams.

Neither club are reporting injuries at this time.

Notes

Samuel Petrone will likely not make the match day eighteen as Mjällby AIF travel to take on Gefle on Thursday evening.
