Eugene Starikov played the second half as Tomsk fought back from two goals down to earn a tie on the road in the Russian Premier League.

Krasnodar 2-2 FK Tom'Tomsk

Tomsk's five game undefeated streak seemed to be in danger at halftime on Saturday after giving up two goals in a half which was dominated by Krasnodar.

But the visitors showed their intent by introducing Starikov, an extra striker, to begin the second half and quickly took the offensive.

Pavel Golyshev brought Tomsk within one when he tucked a loose ball into the net from six yards out.

While bunkering down and absorbing Tomsk's continuous pressure, Krasnodar appeared to solidify their advantage in the 61st minute.

Former MLS striker Yura Movsisyan had nearly broken clear of the Tomsk defense only to be taken down by Renat Sabitov who earned a straight red.

Even with the numerical disadvantage, though, Tomsk continued to push forward.

Starikov came close to equalizing with a strong header off a corner kick, but Evgeny Gorodov made an acrobatic save to preserve the lead temporarily.

Golyshev would deservedly tie the game in the 72nd minute, though, converting a penalty after Maksim Kanunnikov was tripped up by Eugeni Shipitsyn.

The Siberians currently sit in 11th place and will welcome powerhouse Zenit St. Petersburg to Tomsk on 5/21.
