Jozy Altidore was a second half subsitute in Bursaspor's loss to Trabzonspor, while Freddy Adu watched Rizespor's tie with Boluspor from the sidelines.

Trabzonspor 1-0 Bursaspor

Despite a strong performance last week in which he scored his first goal for Bursaspor, Jozy Altidore was not named in the starting eleven for their pivotal matchup with title hopeful Trabzonspor.

Turkish international striker Burak Yilmaz scored the game's lone goal in the 45th minute, beating Bursaspor's backup ‘keeper who had replaced the injured Dimitar Ivankov just minutes earlier.

Altidore replaced Argentinean Pablo Batalla in the 66th minute, but saw too little of the ball to make a serious impact.

The loss keeps Bursaspor in third place, 15 points out of a Champions League spot, though they are still comfortably in line for Europa League qualification.

Altidore will hope to return to the starting lineup next week against Manisaspor.

Notes:

Freddy Adu sat out Rizespor's 0-0 tie with Boluspor, potentially because he has been battling illness. The tie, which included multiple ejections and myriad yellow cards, keeps Rizespor in a three-way tie for third place with Tavşanlı and G. Antep B.
