A road trip to the Scottish Premier League's last place team is on the docket this weekend for Maurice Edu and Rangers who visit Hamilton on Sunday at New Douglas Park.
Edu will start in his usual spot of central midfielder for the Glasgow club who saw their reign at the top of the league standings last just 24 hours.
Following their 0-2 win at St. Johnstone on Tuesday, Rangers were temporarily in first place in the SPL but that changed after Celtic soundly defeated Hibernian at home on Wednesday.
The midweek results still leave the Light Blues two points behind their Old Firm rivals.
It was announced this week that the seventh and final match-up between the hated crosstown rivals will take place on Sunday April 24th at Parkhead in a match with major title implications.
But for now Edu and company must concentrate on the the four matches prior to the Celtic match and it starts on Sunday against Hamilton.
The Accies have been downright atrocious this season winning only two games as they sit in dead last by a whopping 12 points which has all but condemed their fate of relegation.
However a win in front of their home fans over the two-time SPL champions would be a season-maker for the Accies so Smith's men must be wary.
Lee McCulloch, Madjid Bougherra, Kirk Broadfoot, David Healy, Vladimir Weiss, Kyle Bartley and Andrew Little are all out for Rangers while Hamilton are without the suspended Martin Canning and Mark McLaughlin plus the injured Marco Paixao and James Gibson.
