DAVIES LOAN TO DC UNITED ON THE CARDS

JAMIE HILL - Wednesday, February 2, 2011
In search of his first playing time after his injuries in an October 2009 car accident, Charlie Davies may link up with DC United on loan.

According to a team press release, Davies will join DC United's pre-season camp in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday for one week.

The Washington DC emphasized that a final decision will not be made until the club can appraise Davies' ability to contribute in 2011.

"The potential option - pending evaluation - would be 12 months," confirmed DC United Director of Marketing Communications Kyle Sheldon to YA.

Sheldon declined to comment on whether a potential loan would include an option to buy.

Since incurring serious injury nearly 16 months ago, Davies has taken the field only for Sochaux's reserve team, which plays in France's fourth division CFA.
