Anderlecht were able to hold onto the top spot in the Jupiler Pro League with an away victory over Zulte-Waregem in frozen Flanders.

American Sacha Kljestan went the distance for Les Mauves, but the big news on the night was the return of Polish international Marcin Wasilewski. The defender was chopped down by Standard Liege's Axel Witsel last year and suffered an open leg fracture, for which the Belgian international served an eight game ban as well as death threats from Anderlecht and Polish fans.

It was Wasilewski who gave Anderlecht the lead three minutes before the intermission. Waregem's French defender Rémi Maréval evened things up however on the hour mark.

For the home team, Ernest Nfor picked up a yellow card in the 49th minute and a half hour later was shown a second to give the Belgian champions 11 minutes of regulation time to get the game winner. Teen striker Romelu Lukaku took advantage of the situation and scored his eighth goal of the season to secure the victory with just a couple minutes to spare.

Next up for Les Mauves is a Sunday visit to Stade Constant Vanden Stock by Lokeren. The Tricolores are on a high having beaten Standard over the weekend.
