Yet another draw was the result for Carlos Bocanegra and Saint Etienne who split the points with Valenciennes on Wednesday night at Stade Nungesser in Valenciennes.
Bocanegra once again started for Saint Etienne in defense and went the distance in the midweek Ligue 1 clash.
This was the make-up of a match that had been postponed two weeks prior due to torrential rains in the Valenciennes area.
It also marked the third consecutive time out that Saint Etienne have played to a 1-1 draw.
Saint Etienne drew first blood when Emmanuele Riviere sent a right-footed shot that rocketed into the top corner of the net.
The home fans were stunned by the strike as Valenciennes had the bulk of the chances in the games' initial moments.
However at the start of the second half it was evident that Boacengra and the Saint Etienne defense would have to work hard to fend off any challenges.
They managed to do so for 30 minutes until Valenciennes struck for the equalizer in the 77th.
Gregory Pujol found Gael Danic in the area and Danic fired home to draw level.
Valenciennes kept pushing for a second in the final ten minutes but Bocanegra and company managed to stave off any more threats.
Saint Etienne get back to work on Sunday when they host Bordeaux.
