JOHN KRETLOW - Monday, November 1, 2010
Mike Grella and Frank Simek will hope to lead Carlisle United in their clash against Tranmere while Jemal Johnson will hope to spark the Milton Keynes Dons when they take on Yeovil Town.
Carlisle United – Tranmere Rovers
After a disappointing tie this weekend, Frank Simek and Mike Grella will hope to help Carlisle United beat Tranmere Rovers.
Grella continued his impressive start with the Cumbrians with the tying goal against Bristol and should feature again against the Rovers.
Simek is a regular starter for Carlisle and should again go the full ninety in the midweek.
The Cumbrians are hoping for a quick turnaround after a tie that could have easily been a win on Saturday. Gary Madine had his penalty kick saved in the 90th minute, leaving Carlisle to settle for the tie.
Tranmere had an impressive win over Milton Keynes Dons and will be looking to continue that momentum on Tuesday.
Carlisle could be without Francois Zoko who is recovering from a shin injury. Oliver Norwood is still suffering from a thigh problem while James Chester has a knee problem. Paul Thirlwell and Danny Livesey have been out for the long-term but are close to first team action, though Tuesday will still be too early for their return.
Tranmere will be without Zoumana Bakayogo who was sent off in their win over MK Dons, as well as Aaron Cresswell because of a hip problem.
Milton Keynes Dons – Yeovil Town
Jemal Johnson looks to feature as Milton Keynes Dons takes on Yeovil Town in League One play.
Johnson came off the bench to play the final 15 minutes in MK Dons' loss to Tranmere on Saturday. Because of the quick turnaround, it is likely that the American will see more time this Tuesday.
Dons are hoping to improve after a deflating loss to Tranmere. A win against Yeovil could help fans forget about their weekend defeat.
Yeovil Town are coming off a tie with Swindon Town and are in desperate need for a win against MK Dons. They are currently in the bottom half of the standings and every point for them is crucial to get out of the relegation zone.
Yeovil's Stephen Henderson was hurt in their weekend tie and is questionable to play. Luke Freeman's thigh strain could keep him out of the lineup as well, while Craig Alcock is suffering from a back injury and will definitely miss.
MK Dons left their weekend game unscathed and looks to field the same roster.
Anton Peterlin hopes to make the game day roster as Plymouth take on the Bristol Rovers.
