After playing last season with Ipswich Town F.C. of the English Championship, American winger Devann Yao is currently on a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion FC of England's League One.

As part of his trial, he has already played with Brighton's reserve team earlier this week in their 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient.

"The trial is this week and he played for our reserves [Tuesday] night," club press officer Paul Camillin told YA. "He came on for the last ten minutes."

Camillin went on to add that he is unsure of when the club will make its decision on Yao but it will likely be towards the end of the week.

Yao, 20, was born in New York city and since parting ways with Ipswich he has also been on trial with West Ham United of the English Premiership.

i really hope this kid finds a team. his story just makes you feel for him, and stands as evidence that moms might not make the best managers.

he's since been on trial at leyton orient and played a reserve match on november 9. he wasn't named in the next reserve match, so i'm assuming his trial ended. poor luck for this kid. any news since?
