Eugene Starikov scored his first ever professional goal but it was not enough for Tomsk who fell on the road at Spartak Nalchik.

Starikov received his first start of the year and went the full 90 minutes up top at striker for the visitors.

Saturday's match at Spartak Stadion saw both squads start in a bit of a slumber with neither team really able to carve out any good scoring opportunities.

The Russian-American forward came the closest for Tomsk in the 38th minute but his shot from inside the area rolled into the hands of the Nalchik goalkeeper.

Thirteen minutes into the second half, Starikov hit pay dirt in what will be a goal he will forever remember.

A free kick into the area landed in Starikov's direction and the Floridian made no mistake on his header which he spun into the bottom left corner of the goal.

The loanee from Zenit St. Petersburg was euphoric with joy after the goal and was mobbed by his teammates.

Starikov then raced to the sideline to show some appreciation for his coaches and teammates before resuming action.

Unfortunately his goal would not stand up and Nalchik equalized just two minutes later when Nalchik's start striker Vladimir Dyadyun was left all alone in front of the Tomsk net and easily poked in a cross to level the match.

The hosts then scored the game winner in the second minute of second half stoppage time when David Siradze outmuscled the Tomsk defense and shot towards goal that glanced off a Tomsk defender and went into the net.

Starikov and company will return home to Siberia next week to face Amkar Perm.
