With Winter approaching the Veikkkausliiga begins to wrap up with most Yank teams fighting to gain mathematical safety including Mariehamn's big visit to Lahti.

VPS - Tampere United

Greg Eckhardt and VPS welcome TamU to Hietalahti on Sunday night in the penultimate weekend of Veikkausliiga action.

Eckhardt is expected to start in defense for the Vaasa club while keeper Brian Pope remains out long-term with a shoulder injury.

VPS are now in 11th place tied on points with three teams, four points and five spots behind Tampere.

FC Lahti - IFK Mariehamn

The Åland yanks leave the island to take on Lahti and Jari Litmanen on Sunday night.

Mason Trafford and Giuseppe Funicello are expected to start in defense for the guests while Lamar Neagle could see action off the bench after notching his first Veikkausliiga goal in the previous match against MyPa.

Mariehamn are tied for ninth in the table, even on points with Haka, Oulu and VPS.

Lahti are battling to avoid being dropped down to the Ykkonen, sitting just one point ahead of last place JJK and two points back of VPS.

FC Inter - MyPa

Daniel Antunez and Inter face off against MyPa at Veritas Stadium on Monday night in the last home game of the season.

Antunez is expected to start again after going the distance in last weekend's win over Haka.

Inter are currently in sixth place in the Veikkausliiga standings, three points behind Jaro while MyPa are two spots and five points back.
