Daniel Antunez were hammered at home versus Mariehamn while Greg Eckhardt and VPS gutted out a road win over JJK in Veikkausliiga action.
FC Inter 0 - 3 IFK Mariehamn
FC Inter dropped three points in a disappointing loss to relegation-threatened IFK Mariehamn on Friday. Daniel Antunez started and played the full ninety minutes in midfield.
IFK Mariehamn nearly got off the mark seven minutes in, but FC Inter goalkeeper Emil Reponen denied Sasha Anttllainen at point blank range.
The visitors continued to press and found the opener seven minutes later through Tamas Groborovics who took advantage of the poor communication along FC Inter's backline.
IFK Mariehamn made it 2-0 just a minute before halftime when Mikko Paatelainen beat his man and finished inside the post.
Paatelainen dashed any hopes of an FC Inter comeback by scoring his second goal in the 75th minute.
FC Inter are currently in 10th place and face FF Jaro next Sunday.
JJK 0 - 1 VPS
Greg Eckhardt and VPS grinded out a narrow win over JJK in Veikkausliiga action on Monday night. Eckhardt started and played the full 90 minutes.
WIthout the services of Jyri Hietaharju who had to leave the game due to fever, VPS defended well against an attacking JJK team.
After plenty of patience, VPS got the winning goal in the 68th minute. Impressive link up play between Tony Bjork and Pekka Kainulanen on the sideline helped set up Jussi Aalto in the box who finished past the goalkeeper.
VPS are now in sixth place and face FC Mhamn next Monday.
