Josh Gatt kicks off his debut with Altach on Tuesday as the Austrian Erste Liga season gets underway.
The Plymouth, Michigan native has been training with the club since coming on board in early June, and could see action when Altach host the Styrians at the Cashpoint Arena.
Gatt will become the third American to don the Black and Gold of Altach following in the footsteps current Seattle Sounder Nate Jaqua, and Armando Ariel Ochoa.
Altach finished out last season in third, a mere three points behind title-winners FC Wacker Innsbruck, who also claimed the one promotion spot into the Bundesliga.
Coach Adi Hütter's men were led by the scoring exploits of Spanish striker Tomas Esteban Correa Miranda, also simply known as Tomi, who notched 17 goals in the 33-game sesason.
Following the departure of last season's scoring machine Patrick Bürger with a league-leading 18 goals, Hartberg are looking for firepower from newly-acquired Frenchman Wilfried Domoraud, and Slovenian midfielder Nejc Omladic. Hartberg also hope to improve upon their ninth-place finish last season, barely surviving the cut into the Regionalliga.
Hartberg coach Bruno Friesenbichler expects to have a full squad at his disposition for Tuesday evening.
