Greg Eckhardt went the distance in VPS' scoreless draw with Honka while Daniel Antunez and FC Inter suffered a listless home defeat.

FC Honka 0 - 0 VPS

Greg Eckhardt went the full 90 minutes as VPS fought to a scoreless tie against FC Honka at Tapiola Sports Park on Sunday.

With much of the early stages of the game taking place in midfield, it took VPS nearly 30 minutes to test the opposing goalkeeper.

Jussi Aalto did well to find Valtter Laaksonen in the box but the 26-year old striker could not beat Tuomas Peltonen in goal.

Laaksonen's miss would prove to be the last chance for VPS as FC Honka put the visitors under pressure for the rest of the game.

Just before the hour mark, Hermanni Vuorinen drove into the box only to be denied by VPS' South Korean goalkeeper Kwon Jung-Hyuk. Their next attack followed minutes later with Jami Puustinen ballooning his shot over the bar.

FC Honka continued to press forward but Eckhardt and the rest of the VPS defense held out for a well-earned tie. VPS next face Haka on Monday, June 7th.

American goalkeeper Brian Pope is still unavailable with a shoulder injury and di not take part in the match.

FC Inter 0-2 AC Oulu

FC Inter continued their poor play in the Veikkausliiga with a disappointing loss at home to 11th-place AC Oulu on Monday.

Daniel Antunez started the game in midfield before being replaced by Ville Nikkari in the 57th minute.

FC Inter showed none of the confidence that saw them advance to the seventh round of the Finnish Cup earlier in the week, proving vulnerable time and again to AC Oulu's counterattack.

It took AC Oulu 28 minutes to find the opening goal after a mistake by Pablo Gomez in the midfield. Jean Fridolin Nganbe Nganbe fed Joonas Pennanen who punished FC Inter with a finish to the far post.

In the 42nd minute, Antunez almost got FC Inter back into the game with a good cross to Kennedy Nwangangan but the striker could not get his shot on target.

AC Oulu struck back quickly with a decisive second two minutes into stoppage time of the first half, Janne Hietanen laying off to Niko Kukan who finished past goalkeeper David Monsalve.

Things only got worse for FC Inter when Monsalve went down injured in the 69th minute and had to leave the field.

FC Inter remain two points off the bottom of the standings in 13th place. They travel to JJK next Sunday.
