PREVIEW: CD FÁTIMA - GD ESTORIL PRAIA
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
NICK LEYDEN - Friday, April 30, 2010
Tony Taylor is likely to feature in attack for Estoril when they travel to Fátima on Saturday, while Bryan Arguez will battle for a roster spot for the first time in three weeks.

Injury plagued Estoril will visit the Estádio Municipal in the Catholic pilgrimage city of Fátima during the penultimate weekend of the Liga Vitalis on the first day of May.

Forwards Henry Antchouet and Jéremie have both been ruled out for the second week in a row, as have midfielders Erick and Filipe da Costa.

The most notable absence, however, will be that of Estoril's creative spark Lulinha. The 20 year old Brazilian is sidelined with what has simply been described as a muscle injury.

Former University of Jacksonville striker Tony Taylor will look to take advantage of the decreased competition for playing time, and build upon last week's performance in which he scored a late winner against CD Aves, his first goal in Portugal.

A victory could move Os Canarinhos into ninth place, with a chance to secure a top half finish in their final game against Feirense.

Fátima, who have tied their three previous games 1-1, currently have the exact same record as the visitors, though they sit one spot ahead in the standings through a superior goal difference.

The hosts will rely heavily on veteran striker Nuno Sousa, who leads the team in goals after transferring from Estoril in the offseason.

Coach Rui Vitoria, who led Fátima to promotion last season, will also likely deploy on loan Benfica midfielder David Simão to take advantage of Lulinha's absence and control possession.

Taylor was most recently in action in the midweek as Estoril was stunningly crowned national champions of the Liga Intercalar, the same reserve league in which the likes of Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Porto field teams. In the championship match against Paços de Ferreira, Taylor started and played 51 minutes before being replaced by Rodrigo Hote.

Fellow Florida native Bryan Arguez did not feature in the Intercalar championship, though, and has not suited up for Coach Neca's first team since an April 10 game with last place Carregado. The former Hertha Berlin midfielder has yet to make his league debut.

I have bean following Estoril for a long time. We were heading for desaster with the so call starting team. We put new players like Tailor and everything changes. Is time to use this player permanently and stop holding on to players that dont work for the team. Toni Tailor is an exiting , skilful and talented player. Every time I sit on the stadium of Estoril and Tailor play the place is coming down. Why is he not starting? He is the best player of the team and hi is not experience like the starding team but is more talented and that along is bringing resolts......... COME ON ESTORILLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! Boa TONI TAYLOR!!!!!

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
