PREVIEW: DUNDEE UNITED - RANGERS
PREVIEWS
EXTRA TIME
Thursday, April 29, 2010
Fresh off their clinching of the Scottish Premier League title, Maurice Edu, DaMarcus Beasley and Rangers will return to action on Saturday when they head to Tannadice Park to take on Dundee United.

With the league championship already in his back pocket, head coach Walter Smith will likely give ample playing time to those who have spent a bulk of their season on the bench.

That should include DaMarcus Beasley who has not featured in a match for Rangers since last month's disappointing 1-0 Scottish Cup loss to the Arabs.

Beasley still needs to appear in two of the club's final three matches to meet the requisite number of ten SPL appearances to earn a winner's medal.

Should the Indiana native receive the start, it can be expected to see him line up on the right wing of the Rangers midfield.

Fellow American and midfielder Maurice Edu has once again solidified his place in the Rangers starting lineup and is expected to receive another nod on Saturday.

Tannadice has been a house of horrors though for the Californian who suffered his crippling knee injury in last season's finale which kept him out seven months.

He then gave another scare to US fans when he had to leave the field during a 0-0 draw earlier this month on United's home surface.

Fortunately it was a minor calf cramp and Edu would only have to sit out one week before returning to action.

United sit comfortably in third and are cruising to a Europa League berth.

Arabs' head man Peter Houston will only be missing the likes of defender Paul Dixon while Smith is without Sasa Papac due to suspension and possibly Algerian defender Madjid Bougherra who is nursing a calf strain.
