Chris Rolfe got his first start for Aalborg as they overcame Aarhus, while Jamil Fearrington and Roskilde continued their hot streak by knocking off First Division leaders Horsens.

AGF Aarhus 0 - 2 Aalborg BK

Chris Rolfe and Benny Feilhaber crossed paths for their respective teams as Aalborg kept up the pace in their hunt for European qualification with their win over Aarhus on Saturday.

Making his first start for Aalborg since joining the team in January, Rolfe made his presence known, delivering a 24th-minute corner which teammate Lasse Nielsen rose high to head into goal for the 1-0 lead.

The hosts were wasteful in their attempts to draw even, with coach Erik Rassmussen bringing on Feilhaber in place of the young Kasper Povlsen after 57 minutes, largely to no avail.

Rolfe himself made way for Aalborg teammate Jens-Kristian Sørensen in the 77th minute as Magnus Pehrrson did his best to hold on to the narrow lead, and watched from the sidelines as they sealed the victory five minutes later.

A corner from Anders Due was headed towards the right post by Michael Jacobson, with Aalborg captain Andreas Johansson adding the final touch with his forehead for the team's second goal of the game.

Aalborg climb to fifth place with the win, and are locked in a five-team battle for the league's final outright Europa League qualification spot. They next host Odense on Wednesday during midweek league action.

Aarhus remain in eighth place and next pay a visit to Midtjylland on Wednesday.

FC Nordsjælland 1 - 1 HB Køge

Michael Parkhurst made his second start of the spring, going the distance at right back as Nordsjælland fought back for a draw against last-place Køge on Monday.

With the team's spring schedule progressing at a frenetic pace thanks to their continued Danish Cup success, Nordsjælland coach Morten Wieghorst took advantage of his deep bench to give his usual starters a rest before their midweek trip to Brøndby, thereby giving Parkhurst a run-out at right back.

Køge opened the scoring after 36 minutes after Stefan Hansen back-heeled a corner into the path of Henrik Toft, who poked home from point-blank range to put the league's basement team into the lead.

Facing the humiliating prospect of a home loss to the league's runaway worst team, the Wild Tigers came out after the halftime break with a renewed vigilance and nearly pulled even in the 50th minute when a goal from Matti Lund Nielsen was whistled back for offside.

They finally secured the point with 12 minutes left in regulation when Pierre Bengtsson broke through on the left of goal and placed a cross for Nickie Bille Nielsen to head in for the equalizer.

The point takes the Wild Tigers up to eighth place, just ahead of Aarhus on goal differential. They have a three-day break before hitting the road to take on sixth-place Brøndby on Thursday.

Viborg FF 0 - 1 Thisted FC

Babajide Ogunbiyi went the distance for Viborg and drew a first-half yellow as they were unable to overcome an early goal from visiting Thisted in their first loss of 2010.

The hosts had barely had time to lace up their shoes when they found themselves victims of an unexpected third-minute strike by Anders Brøchner from the edge of the area.

They quickly regained their composure and had general control of matters for the remainder of the game, but were unable to break down the tenacious Thisted defense.

They increased the pressure as the second half wore on, mounting a true onslaught on the Thisted goal in an effort to avoid their first home loss of the season, but were unfortunate to be held scoreless, with all three points going to the visitors.

Viborg remain in sixth place, now a daunting eight points off of promotion. They will hope to get back on track on Sunday when they visit high-flying Jamil Fearrington and Roskilde.

AC Horens 2 - 3 FC Roskilde

Jamil Fearrington went the distance in Roskilde's defense as they continued their hot start to the spring with a remarkable 3-2 road win over fist-place AC Horsens on Sunday.

After taking four points from their first pair of games in the spring, Roskilde were facing their first true test of mid-season improvements against the league's top team on their home turf.

The visitors jumped out to a surprise lead after 30 minutes, taking advantage of a quick counter situation with Jeppe Kjær breaking free to head in a cross from Poul Hübertz.

Horsens needed only three minutes to bring matters even when a shot bounced off of Roskilde keeper Martin Johnsen's shoulder and directly to Issey Nakajima-Farran to slam into the net for the equalizer.

They then took the lead one minute before the hour mark thanks to a defensive error by Roskilde defender Adam Eckersley, whose poor clearance landed at the feet of Brazilian Gilberto Macena to send into goal with a nifty back-heel.

Roskilde looked headed for their first defeat of 2010 until Casper Grønn Larsen headed in a free kick to bring his team even with two minutes in regulation.

The real fireworks were saved for the final seconds, as Kjær worked his way around several defenders, firing dramatically past Horsens keeper Søren Jochumsen for the last-gasp winner.

The win pushes Roskilde past Skive into 12th place, four points clear of relegation. They visit fifth-place FC Vestsjælland on Wednesday in a make-up game, then return home to host Viborg on Sunday.

Notes

Euan Holden is nursing a slight injury and did not suit up for Vejle's 1-1 draw with Hvidovre on Sunday.
