DAVID SMITH - Monday, March 29, 2010
Chris Rolfe saw a further 15 minutes of action as Aalborg earned a point on the road against Nordsjælland while Euan Holden saw the last seven minutes of action as Vejle shut out Naestved.

FC Nordsjælland 1 - 1 Aalborg BK

Chris Rolfe saw the field for the final 15 minutes, as Aalborg and Nordsjælland waited until the final moments of the game to make things interesting.

The majority of the first-half struggle for both teams was limited to midfield battles, with only halfhearted attempts on goal from either side.

Nordsjælland began to gain control around the hour mark, with substitute Bajram Fetai coming close but only hitting the side netting in the 60th minute, and shot by Nicki Bille Nielsen at an open net after he had rounding Aalborg keeper Karim Zaza rolling too weakly toward goal, ultimately to be cleared by Lasse Nielsen.

The Wild Tigers kept the pressure on and finally had it pay off one minute before the end of regulation, with a slick team effort which concluded with Andreas Laudrup being left alone to net from close range for the seeming winner.

With only injury time left to pull something out of the battle, Aalborg put their full might behind their attack and pulled even in the third minute of added time with a blast from Ronnie Schwartz to give each team one point.

Aalborg's Marcus Tracy continues to battle injury and did not suit up, while Nordsjælland's Michael Parkhurst was an unused substitute for coach Morten Wieghorst.

The draw leaves Aalborg in fifth place, still three points from the top three and a place in the Europa League. They next host Sønderjyske on Friday evening.

The Wild Tigers fall to seventh with the point, and will travel to Midtjylland on Thursday for midweek action.

Naestved BK 0 - 1 Vejle BK

Euan Holden took the field as an 83rd minute substitute, as a strong defensive performance by Vejle lifted them over their hosts Naestved by a single goal on Sunday.

The first half saw several shifts in momentum between the two teams but neither able to take advantage of the momentary swing to take the lead.

Vejle took the lead two minutes past the hour mark when team captain Steffen Kielstrup headed in a corner from Martin Borre to put his team ahead.

Naestved appeared to have drawn even six minutes later when Felipe Garcia Goncalves headed in a corner, however the referee had already blown his whistle immediately before for a foul on the Vejle keeper, leaving the advantage at 1-0 to the visitors.

Holden entered in 83rd minute to help sure up the defense, as Vejle withstood a final push from their hosts, and earned the important three road points.

The win gives eighth-place Vejle 25 points, now only two behind Viborg and Naestved. The current eight-point gap to the top-two promotion spots makes their chance for the jump slim, however with 13 games still left on the schedule they will be hanging on to some degree of hope for the time being.

Their chance to move up in the standings will come on Thursday afternoon when they host Thisted.

Benny Feilhaber is still in the final stages of recovering from his ankle injury and did not take part as Aarhus held Copenhagen to a scoreless draw at home on Sunday.

Jamil Fearrington had another weekend off as Roskilde's home game against Kolding FC was postponed due to poor field conditions.

Babajide Ogunbiyi had a weekend of rest as Viborg's away matchup against third-place Lyngby was postponed due to field conditions.
