ANDREW VORCE - Thursday, February 25, 2010
United States Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has released a roster of 20 names for next week's friendly in Holland on March 3rd.

Yanks Abroad will be there at Amsterdam Arena where Bradley and company will suit up against the Netherlands in a match scheduled to air on ESPN2 and Galavision.

The roster has some surprise inclusions of the 16 based European players including Eddie Johnson who is making his return after joining Greek club Aris Thessaloniki.

Alejandro Bedoya of Swedish club Orebro evidently impressed enough at last month's camp to garner another nod while Frank Simek returns to national team action for the first time since 2007.

Jonathan Bornstein, Heath Pearce, and Robbie Findley are the three current MLS based players while Jose Francisco Torres of Mexican club Pachuca also makes the roster.

Making the final cut is DaMarcus Beasley who returns to the national fold after struggling with playing time and injuries. International and club teammate Maurice Edu will also be on the roster, his first game back for the US since damaging his knee last May. Below you can view the full roster:

I'd be shocked if Bradley and Edu are on the pitch together. especially starting. They basically play the same position.

In my opinion Adu will be added for the Czech and Turkey games if he keeps his form.

GaUSAfan, Ching is not on this roster because his ticket to SA has already been punched, and rightfully so. I was a critic of the guy for the longest, but he proves to be hard to handle in the air, and consistently puts the ball in the back of the net. He will be Jozy's backup

my preferred lineup for this game:
Guzan, Simek, Bocanegra, DeMerit, Spector
Holden, Torres, Bradley, Donovan
Johnson, Altidore
We could be competitive with these guys.

Hawk,

Beasley was not getting an "assist every game before the injury". Beasley may have had solid moments with his club team, but in NATIONAL TEAM play he had been terrible.

A solid call up roster none the less and I imagine for Findley and Johnson this may be their last time to impress if they want a shot at playing for the USMNT in South Africa.

Bedoya (if given time) may be a wild card here. If he should impress, he may continue to see call ups. I just want to see Torres get some playing time.

As far as Adu, people keep in mind that he has 2 goals and 3 assists in his time at Aris. However, I do believe Adu is on Bradley's radar but I think he wants Freddy to maintain his form and then I do believe Adu will be added to the roster.

any word on Jermaine Jones? Is he ever going to play for US? I'd love to see it.

Come on guys! DMB is a very special player. Do not use him in defense and he will shine.
I expect those guys will start:
Howard
Spector- DeMerit-Boca-Bornstein
Holden-Bradley-Edu-Donovan
Josy-EJ

I would prefer:
Howard
Simek- DeMerit-Boca- Spector
Holden-Bradley-Torres- DMB
Josy- Donovan

but Bradley-senior did not ask my opinion.

Also it's important to test Pearce against good opponent – he played surprisingly well vs. Salvador.

For Findley, Simek and EJ this is the last chance to convince coach that he should choose them.
Bedoya? Why not Gaven?

ummm... do you guys pay attention...beasely was playing great for rangers before he got hurt...he was on getting assists every game. Johnson has been playing in more games than freddy in greece and just went the full 90. Spector plays lb for west ham while simek only plays rb so they need to play those positions. the american soccer fan. i agree about bornstein. he is terrbile.

Don't forget about the injured Feilhaber who will also be on the WC roster. We are really hurting with injuries right now at the worst time.

Very disappointing to see Beasley back in the mix. He has been atrocious in his last few USMNT appearances. I would rather see one of the youngsters out there getting valuable experience. Beasley had his time and was very useful, but we need to move on.

Adu needs to prove he can maintain his place at a club for more than 2 weeks, and then I agree that he should be back in the mix.

Should be interesting against the Netherlands without at least 1/3 of our regulars. I will be in Philly for Turkey, and I hope they are all are ready to go by then.

Bornstein???? He is not good enough. For the back four, I hope to see Simek at left back, Bocanegra and Demerit in the center, Spector at right back.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
