A coveted spot in the Copa Libertadores is on the line today when Herculez Gomez and Puebla face Estudiantes at Pizza Hut Park on Wednesday night.

Gomez, who started and played 71 minutes in Puebla's last game, is set to start his second game in a row at striker and hoping to crack the score sheet and solidify a starting role going into the Clausura.

Both teams have struggled in the league of late, and neither was expected to be playing for a spot in the Copa Libertadores, which should make for an extremely entertaining game filled with passion and energy.

Puebla boss Jose Luis Sanchez Sola and his counterpart Miguel Herrera have both done wonders with what many view as limited talent pools, and a Libertadores berth would be a massive accomplishment on already improving coaching resumes.

The losing team will not be completely out of the running for a Libertadores spot, but will have to qualify through another difficult playoff.
