Ryan Miller's 2010 is off to an eventful start after signing a contract with Swedish Allsvenskan club Halmstads BK.

Miller had originally agreed to terms with fellow Allsvenskan club GAIS last month, but that was soon derailed after the club announced that financial constraints would not permit any new player signings.

The former Notre Dame standout was then quickly scooped up by Halmstads BK who solidified an agreement with the player earlier today.

"Ryan Miller has signed a guaranteed three year contract with Hamlstads," confirmed Miller's agent, Eddie Rock, to YA after the deal was completed.

Miller joins a club that has plenty of championship pedigree with their most recent Allsvenskan title coming in 2000. The defender will also be making the jump up from the second division of Sweden after spending his 2009 season with Superettan club Ljungskile.

Halmstads hope to improve off of last year's 13th place finish when they kick off their season on March 14th versus Trelleborgs FF.

Now we just need to get Fredrik Ljungberg home aswell, with Miller in the club it might feel a bit like the US =)
