After a successful first season in Sweden at Superettan club Ljungskile, defender Ryan Miller will make the jump up to the Allsvenskan and play the 2010 season with GAIS.

Miller had joined Ljungskile in the middle of the 2009 Superettan after a previous short stint with DC United in MLS.

The former Notre Dame standout quickly became one of the highest-rated defenders in the Superettan where he teamed with fellow American Etchu Tabe on Ljungskile's back line and helped the club avoid relegation at the end of the season.

The native of Barrington, Illinois had previously mentioned his desire to play in a more competitive league which now appears to be coming to fruition according to Miller's representative.

"Ryan is going to join GAIS," Miller's agent, Eddie Rock, recently rold YA. "The general terms have been agreed to and we expect the official signing to occur in the next 14 days."

Miller appeared in a total of 14 matches with Ljungskile during the 2009 season and will hope to help GAIS improve on its 11th place finish in this past year's Allsvenskan.
