CLUB BRUGGE OFFER FOR JEFFREY
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
MICHAEL ADUBATO - Thursday, January 31, 2008
Dallas Texan youngster Jared Jeffrey has completed his trial with Club Brugge and head coach Jacky Mathijssen was impressed enough to offer the 17-year old a deal with the Jupiler League leaders.

"We are still negotiating with Jared," Club Brugge general secretary Jacques De Nolf told YA. "He was at our winter camp in Turkey in the beginning of January and he did very well."

Jeffrey, the 5'10" midfielder who joined U.S. Soccer's Residency Program in August 2005 and featured for both the U-17s and U-15s, will not be eligible to play for the Belgian team until he reaches his 18th birthday this summer.

"Of course he cannot take part until July," De Nolf continued, "but he will still come here to finalize the negotiations in February and have a medical."

If Brugge continue their current form Jeffrey may be playing in the Champions League during his first year in Europe.

"We are hoping that next season he will be part of our team."
