FEILHABER CONSIDERING ISRAEL OPTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRI-MATHIAS HODGE - Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Midfielder Benny Feilhaber could make his second move in as many transfer windows with a deal that would send the soon to be 23-year old to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The former UCLA Bruin is hunting for playing time after a summer transfer to Premiership doormats Derby has only yielded seven appearances, one of which was a September start.

Reportedly, Maccabi has made a $550K offer for the American who joined the Rams in August for just under $2 million from Hamburg SV.

Derby management has already approved the deal, and the decision must now come from the former U-20 star according to Feilhaber's agent Henner Janzen.

"Derby is fine with the dea,l but Benny hasn't decided yet if he wants to go or not," Janzen confirmed to YA. "Nothing has been decided yet."

"The deadline for the deal is January 31st, so he will have until then to make up his mind."

Maccabi finished in third place last year in the Ligat ha'Al, but are currently ninth in the twelve team league.

The club is one of two Israeli teams to participate in the Champions League group stage.
