WEST BACK IN FREDRIKSTAD TRAINING
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
Thursday, March 29, 2007
Fredrikstad attacker Brian West is back on the road to recovery following a lengthy multi-injury spell that kept the attacker out of action for most of last season.

The US international, with seven caps to his name, ruptured his Achilles tendon in a match against Viking and underwent a successful operation to repair the damage in July.

On his winding road to recovery, West required yet a further operation; this time, to alleviate a bothersome knee problem.

However, after weathering the medical storm, the speedy winger is finally getting back into a position to contend for some playing time.

"I just started to get back in training again after I suffered an Achilles injury eight months ago," West remarked to YA.

With the start of the Norwegian Tippeligaen season quickly approaching, the forward is keeping his mindset positive, and will be hoping to factor into new coach Anders Grönhagen's plans for the season.

West quipped, "I'm looking forward to playing again."

Fredrikstad open the new Tippeligaen season with an April 9th trip to Lillestrøm.
