Norwegian top flighters Odd Grenland have tabled an improved transfer offer to MLS for New England Revolution forward Taylor Twellman.
The club, who survived a relegation scrape last season, saw a reported $1 million first attempt swatted away by the league last week.
"At the moment, I'm trying to get in contact with MLS," Odd sport director Hallvar Thoresen told YA. "We have not received an answer to our second proposal."
The Skien boys only scored 30 goals in 26 matches last term, the second fewest in the Tippeliga.
Thoresen stated that the club have targeted Twellman as the man to cure their woes in front of net.
"We haven't given up yet," he asserted. "We are very much looking for a striker to give us the goals."
Should Twellman land with Odd, he will suit up alongside fellow US international Nat Borchers.
The St. Louis native, who formerly played in Europe with 1860 Munich II, runs out of his MLS contract at the end of the upcoming 2007 season.
Twellman, the 2005 league MVP, has scored 75 goals in 130 contests for the Revs.
