CONVEY NOT YET FIT FOR ROYAL DUTY

According to the club, recovering Reading attacker Bobby Convey is still some ways off returning to Premiership play.

The US international was out of action after being substituted in the 76th minute of Reading's 1-0 win at West Ham on October 1st, and revealed to YA shortly afterwards that he had been carrying a knee injury since the World Cup.

Apart from 72 minutes at Portsmouth on October 28th, he has remained off the Royals' game day roster and the club admitted Wednesday that a swift return is not on the horizon for the 23 year-old.

"He has not trained for a couple of weeks," Reading press officer Andy West told YA. "We can pretty much write him off for Saturday's game."

"He is back now from two weeks in the States, where he spent some time with the National Team physios, but he is still not 100%."

In Convey's absence, Reading have won three games and lost four, moving up to an impressive seventh in the Premiership - but they are eager for their American winger to return to fitness as soon as possible.

"Our medical team is monitoring the situation," said West. "We will see how it goes, but a return this weekend is probably unlikely given our physios are still assessing the extent of his injury."

Reading host third place Bolton at the Madejski on Saturday.
