Sebastian Soto is heading back to England as it was announced on Thursday that the team has decided to recall the forward from his loan at Dutch second division team SC Telstar.
Having signed for Norwich City of the English Championship last July, Sebastian Soto was sent out on loan to Telstar of the Dutch second division but has now been recalled to his parent club.
The 20-year-old California native was scooped up by the English team after his contract with Hannover 96 expired, but with no work permit forthcoming in the summer, he ended up in the Netherlands and had a successful spell, scoring seven goals in 12 appearances. During this time, he also made his USA debut by coming on as a second-half substitute against Panama and scoring twice.
With the United Kingdom no longer a part of the European Union (EU), the work permit regulations have been revised, making it easier for non-EU players to be granted one. Soto's application for the permit is in the works and Norwich City are pretty confident that it's only a matter of time.
The Canaries are currently sitting at the top of the English Championship standings as they look to get back into the Premier League next season.
