MICHAEL ADUBATO - Sunday, December 6, 2020
Sebastian Soto has been added to the U.S. national team's roster for their December 9 friendly against El Salvador, US Soccer announced on Saturday.

Having impressed during his recent call-up for the USMNT for the game against Panama last month in Austria, Soto found himself available for the game after he picked up a red card in his last club game for Telstar. Thus, head coach Gregg Berhalter added him to the roster.

Soto, who is on loan at Telstar in the Dutch second division from English Championship team Norwich City, made his debut against Panama, coming off the bench in the 77th minute and scoring a couple of goals as the Americans beat their CONCACAF rivals by a 6-2 scoreline.

The San Diego native, who is also eligible to play for Chile, was called up for their 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Colombia but declined the offer before making his American debut.

He joins CJ dos Santos from Benfica, the only other European based player, who will be looking for his first international cap when the U.S takes their Central American opponents in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
