Emmanuel Sabbi scored his first goal of the Danish Superliga season as it helped Odense BK to salvage a point against Nordsjaellend.

Odense BK 1-1 Nordsjaelland

Emmanuel Sabbi's goal canceled an earlier strike from Isaac Atanga as Odense and Nordsjaellend shared the spoils in the end at Nature Energy Park.

Sabbi played 90 minutes in the game and was dangerous throughout, but he'll probably wish he could have done better with his finishing on other chances that would have certainly given his team maximum points.

The forward would have a great opportunity to open the scoring in the 22nd minute. Issam Jbali spotted him wide open on the right side and sent a brilliant pass. Sabbi put his shot on target, but it was well-saved by Nordsjaellend goalkeeper Peter Vindahl.

Sabbi had another chance to break the scoreless deadlock on the ensuing corner kick, but his shot went over the bar.

Entering the second half with both teams still scoreless, the visitors would finally find the opener in the 55th minute. A deflected pass fell into the path of Atanga and the Ghanaian international delicate shot would end up in the back of the net.

Odense was down a goal, but it did not deter them, especially Sabbi as from his performance on the day, he clearly deserved to be on the scoresheet.

And the 22-year-old finally got his goal in the 57th minute. Jens Thomasen's in-swinging corner kick would find him in a crowded six-yard box and he headed his shot away from the goalkeeper and into the net.

The host had one more chance to steal a win when they were rewarded a free-kick, but Jbali's shot went just wide of the mark.

Odense sits in fourth place in the Superliga standings with four points.

Notes

Jens Lys Cajuste went the distance for Midtjylland as they claimed their first points of the season with a 1-0 win over Lyngby.

Haji Wright came off the bench to play the last 14 minutes for SønderjyskE but could not work his magic this time around as they were thoroughly beaten by Vejle in a 4-1 defeat.

Michael Lansing kept his place on the bench as Horsens fell to Randers in a 3-0 loss.

Down in the First Division, goalkeeper Jacob Samnik was on the bench as Hobro held on for a 3-2 win over Fredericia.
