Malik Tillman made quite the impression at Bayern Munich last season that the Bavarians have given him a multi-year contract.
The news, which was announced on Thursday, will see the 18-year-old remain with the team until June 30, 2023.
Tillman, who moved to the German giants from Greuther Furth in August 2015, has made his presence know throughout the youth ranks. While for the Under-19 team, he bagged 16 goals in 26 appearances. That kind of form saw him earn promotion to Bayern Munich II. In the eight games he played for them he scored five goals which would be crucial for them as they became the first reserve team to win the 3. Liga.
Now training with Bayern's first team as they gear up for the resumption of the UEFA Champions League, the German-American attacker is very happy to have his future sorted.
"I am very happy to be able to continue wearing the FC Bayern jersey and will work hard to realize my dream of becoming a professional footballer at this club," said Tillman in statement on Bayern Munich's website.
The Bundesliga champions, for their part, also expressed their excitement to have reached a deal with Tillman.
"We are very pleased that we were able to keep Malik at the club for another three years," said Jochen Sauer, director of the FC Bayern Campus. "He has developed excellently in terms of sport and personal development. Most recently he has already taken the first steps in men's football with amateurs and has shown strong performances in the 3rd division. We have great confidence in his skills and potential."
Malik, who is the younger brother of Timothy Tillman, will look to build on his performances last season either with the Under-19s or Bayern Munich II when their season come around.
