Ian Harkes will spend will be heading up to the Scottish Premier League with Dundee United along with a new two-year contract the team announced on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old played an integral part in the Tangerines' success in the Scottish Championship during the 2019-2020 season which saw the team awarded the league title and promotion to the top flight following its suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In total, he played in 31 games this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Harkes' performances on the field have not gone unnoticed as he was recently named to the SPFL Championship Team of the Year.

With Dundee United players back in training in hopes of the SPL season's August start, Harkes will look to step up his game as he wants to get noticed by the U.S. national team staff.
