RECAP: WEEKEND BELGIAN ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
MICHAEL ADUBATO - Monday, March 9, 2020
Chris Durkin was the only American to see action over the weekend in Belgium Sint-Truiden took on Standard Liege as the Pro League gets closer to the playofff phase.

Chris Durkin came off the bench late into stoppage time as Sint-Truiden came away with a point on the road against Standard Liege. Neither team was able to find the back of the net. Next week will be the last of the regular season before the play-offs and the Canaries will host Anderlecht who have bounced back in recent weeks and need all three points and for the Genk vs. Mechelen game to end in a tie for them to sneak up into sixth place to join the top play-off group.

Ethan Horvath continued to ride the pin but had a good vantage to watch Club Brugge come out victorious in their derby against Cercle Brugge who continue to struggle but look to be safe from relegation. Club will close out their regular season with a road trip to Eupen where hopefully Horvath will get the nod before the play-offs get underway.

First Division B ended their season last weekend and now there will be a home and away play-off between OH Leuven and Beerschot-Wilrijk to determine who will join the big boys next season in the Jupiler Pro League top flight.

The Belgian Cup will be contest on March 22nd where Club Brugge will go up against Royal Antwerp. The following week the play-offs to determine the Champions of Belgium will get underway.
