HYNDMAN SEALS HIBS LOAN
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Thursday, August 9, 2018
Emerson Hyndman will make a return to the Scottish Premier League as it was announced that English Premier League team Bournemouth have agreed to loan him to Hibernian.

The move, which happened on Wednesday, came after Hibs lost John McGinn in a transfer to Aston Villa.

Hyndman is no stranger to Scottish soccer as he was previously sent out on loan by Bournemouth to Rangers during the 2016-2017 season. He thrived with the team during his six-month stay as he scored four goals in 13 appearances, which was enough to secure him the team's Young Player of the Year award.

The loan also come at a good time for the 22-year-old midfielder as he found it difficult to break into Bournemouth's first team last season. He should be guaranteed first team minutes for the Edinburgh-based team as they look to challenge Rangers, Hearts, and reigning SPL champions Celtic this season.

It appears that Hyndman has welcomed the move back to Scotland.

"I am delighted to have joined Hibs," he said in a statement on the team's website. "I enjoyed my previous time in Scotland - my game is well suited to the style of play here. I'm looking forward to meeting up with the squad and hopefully working my way into the team."

Hibs were in a rush to complete the signing of the young American as they had to meet UEFA's deadline to make him eligible for their Europa League qualifier against Molde. They did make the deadliine as came off the bench for the team in their 0-0 first leg tie against the Norwegians.

As for the coaching staff, Hibs head coach Neil Lennon believes he has found the right man to replace McGinn in the midfield.

"We are pleased to bring in a player of Emerson's quality," he said. "Technically he's at a good level, he's got experience of the Scottish game and gives us another option in the center of midfield."

Hyndman will have his first chance to step on the field for Hibs in SPL action on Sunday when they face St. Johnstone.
